Nation Split on Possible Suspension of Penn State Football
We loaded a question into our system this morning to gauge consumer opinion on a possible suspension of the Penn State football program in the wake of the Freeh Report last week. We found it interesting to see how evenly divided the numbers were:
Overall, respondents are split evenly 43-43 on whether the program should be suspended. Strong support for a suspension (34%), however, outweighs strong opposition (21%).
When we looked at cross-tabs for this question, we saw that Men (40%), people with advanced education degrees (42%) and those with household incomes over $150,000 (43%) were more likely to say "Yes, definitely." This will be an interesting issue to watch as the NCAA makes its decision.
